Foundation for Children in Need

In 2017, with the help of a grant from the Vistex Foundation, Foundation for Children in Need (FCN) successfully coordinated their third year of cleft-lip and cleft-palette surgeries in collaboration with Smile Network International and Santhiram Hospital of Nandyal, Kurnool, India.

With help from a team of 25 doctors and volunteers, 72 children have benefitted from the life-changing surgeries. Dr. M. Santhi Ramudu and Dr. Madhavi Latha were very gracious and generous to provide food and accommodations for nearly 400 people. They also provided all tests and operating rooms free of cost.

Foundation for Children in Need is an important link between Smile Network, Santhiram Hospital, and its beneficiaries. With a grant from the Vistex Foundation, Foundation for Children in Need paid for the travel expenses of children and their parents and were able to coordinate and promote the cleft-lip surgery mission.

Additionally, the Vistex Foundation awarded a grant to support FCN improve their job training programs. The grant purchased sewing machines to be donated to trainees taking part in the job training programs.
