Helping those in need overcome barriers to success

Medical Teams International

Five years after a devastating earthquake, Haitians are still struggling to rebuild. In Crochu, Haiti, the Vistex Foundation is partnering with Medical Teams International to fund programs focused on improving community health. The Healthy Children & Safe Motherhood Program ensures babies receive vital immunizations and monthly health checks, children are properly educated about sanitation practices, and rural health systems have more stable connectivity with government health agencies. With our help, a community health clinic opened in Crochu, staffed by a full – time nurse and doctor, and reachable by even the most remote communities. The locally trained workers have been vital in the success of the clinic and have saved the lives of young mothers and children under five years of age.
